A Note About Our Projected Scores

We have been asked several times in the past few weeks, a question regarding the Projected Scores, and why some change from the initial posting.

We thought we would take a minute to provide some information to better understand the process.

Football Projected Scores Notes

  • Our protocol is to allow the system to build Projected Scores for a game as the Line and Total are released; this will usually occur by Monday.
  • Throughout the day on Tuesday, we allow the Projected Scores to be tweaked based on various factors.  Most games are not affected by this, and the ones that are only change slightly.  Occasionally, there will be a significant move to a Projected Score, but that is the exception.
  • By Wednesday, we are locked into our Projected Scores, except when special circumstances arise, such as a change at quarterback, change of venue, or for College Football, if there are unexpected suspensions of multiple players.
  • Weather does not factor into our projections.

Baseball Projected Scores Notes

  • Our protocol is to allow the system to build a Projected Score for a game as the Starting Pitchers, Money Line and Total are released. This will usually occur the morning of each game.
  • The only instance, in which the system will change a Projected Score for MLB, is when a scheduled starting pitcher is scratched.  In such case, the system will rebuild Projected Scores for both teams based on the new pitcher data.
  • Weather does not factor into our projections.

Basketball Projected Scores Notes

  • Our protocol is to allow the system to build a Projected Score for a game as the Line and Total are released. This will usually occur the morning of each game.
  • The only instance in which the system will change a Projected Score for Basketball, is when special circumstances arise, such as an injury to a key player, change of venue, or for College Basketball, if there is an unexpected suspension of one or more key players.

We hope this helps you to better understand what happens, once the initial Projected Scores are posted.
